paul grovesPAUL GROVES (tenor), winner of the 1995 Richard Tucker Foundation Award, has established himself as a leading lyric tenor with the world's most prominent opera houses and symphony orchestras, including the Metropolitan Opera, Opéra de Paris, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Salzburg Festival, New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra and Vienna Philharmonic. In the 2007-08 season, Groves sang Pylade in Iphigénie en Tauride at Covent Garden and the Met; the title role in Gounod's Faust in New Orleans; Jianlin in Tan Dun's The First Emperor at the Met; Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail for Houston Grand Opera; and Julian in Charpentier's Louise with Opéra National de Paris. The past season's concert highlights include L'enfance du Christ in Zurich, the title role in La damnation de Faust in Lisbon, and performances with The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
