Hear Tara Helen O'Connor (flute) and Alisa Weilerstein (cello) performing Brazillian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos' exotic Jet Whistle; and Weilerstein returns with Daniel Phillips (violin) and Hsin-Yun Huang (viola) for Beethoven's String Trio, Op. 9 No. 3. Then pianist Stephen Prutsman and violinist Livia Sohn team up to end the concert with an early Richard Strauss work, his Sonata for Violin & Piano, Op. 18.
June 4, 2009 The complete Wadsworth and Friends: A Musical Celebration, the Birthday Party/Tribute Concert recorded last Sunday evening from Memminger Auditorium in honor of Spoleto Chamber Music Artistic Director Charles Wadsworth. Musical selections include Bach’s Concerto in D Minor for Two Violins, Ravel’s Pavane, and the concert finale performance of Franck's Quintet for Piano and Strings in F minor, featuring pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.
